retirementincomereviews.com is a website dedicated to helping retirees and near-retirees increase their income. I will do this by researching and reviewing various ways to realistically supplement retirement income.
The motivation behind this site is the realization that the “American Dream” of working to 65, then retiring with a very comfortable lifestyle is slipping away. Pensions rarely exist any longer. Social Security is in grave danger of insolvency. 401ks are suffering from a very uncertain market. And many of us never recovered financially from 2008. The realization that I’m close to retirement age and have very little funding lead me to the realization that, even though I currently have a very good job, I will need some additional sources of income to secure a comfortable and worry-free retirement. The realization that there are many people in the same situation made the idea that investigating various sources and sharing the results would be a win-win for all.
Why should you listen to my opinion? In my 48 years in the working world, I have been an employee, a contractor/consultant, and a business owner. I have tried side hustles as a programmer, a mortgage loan officer, a financial advisor and insurance salesperson, a Doordash driver, an Instacart shopper, a futures trader, a radio announcer/DJ, an interviewer for a radio series, and have tried several MLM “opportunities”. I haven’t tried everything, but I have tried a lot!
